When I first stepped into Rotherham House, I saw incredible potential, but it wasn’t yet a brand.The property had the bones of something beautiful: elegant architecture, generous space, and charm at every turn. But it needed identity. It needed purpose. It needed a story.
That’s where Rotherham Escapes was born, and where my role began.
Over nine months, I worked hand in hand with the owners to design, position, and market the property from the ground up.
Today, it stands as a thriving, luxury staycation brand with nearly 10,000 Instagram followers, consistent engagement, and it has taken over £90,000 worth of bookings since first opening, including weddings, hen parties, and retreats.
Success like that didn’t come from marketing alone. It came from innovation, design thinking, and creating experiences that people genuinely want to book.
Building a Brand, Not Just a Property
When I first took on the project, the owners were offering a lovely stay, but it was missing that “wow” factor that turns guests into advocates and bookings into a brand.. I developed the entire Rotherham Escapes concept, focusing on one goal: to make it a destination. That meant curating an identity that felt aspirational yet accessible, luxurious yet homely, and most importantly Instagram-worthy.
To do this, I designed the interiors, sourced luxury furniture and decor, and built a cohesive style that balanced modern elegance with comfort. Every corner was considered through the eyes of both a guest and a camera lens, ensuring the space photographed beautifully and offered the kind of moments people love to share online.

Creating Experiences, Not Just Stays
A beautiful interior can attract bookings, but unforgettable experiences create loyalty.
As part of the strategy, I proposed adding:✨ A purpose-built spa room to elevate the property and appeal to luxury travellers.✨ Bespoke private chef experiences, from graze tables to fine dining, so guests could enjoy restaurant-quality dining without leaving the house.✨ Cocktail experiences and added-on packages to transform a stay into a full escape.
These additions didn’t just make the property more appealing, they unlocked multiple new revenue streams and gave guests reasons to return.
By positioning the property as a place to stay, celebrate, relax, and reconnect, we made it so much more than accommodation. We made it an experience.

Marketing the Dream
Once the foundation was set, it was time to build the brand’s digital presence.
I developed Rotherham Escapes’ full marketing and social strategy, from tone of voice and brand photography to influencer partnerships and digital storytelling.
Within months, @rotherhamescapes on Instagram grew from zero to thousands of engaged followers. Every post was crafted to show not just the space, but the emotion behind it, from bridal parties to family celebrations and tranquil spa moments.
We implemented a strong influencer programme, inviting aligned creators to stay and share their experience authentically. These collaborations generated thousands of views, significant engagement, and bookings, including one post that drove £16,000 in bookings in just two days.
